Janine is a heartfelt and dedicated teacher of Qigong and Tai Chi, whose lifelong journey into healing and spirituality has shaped a deeply nurturing approach to these ancient practices. Growing up in the serene small town of Fiddletown in California's Gold Country, she always felt close to nature's energy. Her path ignited after reading Ram Dass's Be Here Now at 16 years old, inspiring countless hours of meditation amid the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. This early foundation in mindfulness and self-discovery naturally drew her to Traditional Chinese Medicine and the profound arts of energy cultivation.
Her formal training began under the guidance of Hugh Castor in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she immersed herself in the ancient Wu Qin Xi (Five Animals Qigong). One of the oldest and most revered forms of medical Qigong, dating back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25–220 AD) and attributed to the legendary physician Hua Tuo. Drawing inspiration from nature's creatures, these dynamic exercises promote vitality, prevent illness, enhance qi flow, strengthen the body, and foster longevity. Alongside this, Janine learned Yang Style Tai Chi. Which is celebrated for its graceful, flowing movements, expansive postures, slow and harmonious pace, and focus on relaxation, balance, upright alignment, and internal energy development. Making it an ideal practice for health restoration, meditative calm, and gentle self-cultivation.

Expanding her expertise, Janine studied Meditation Qigong with Larry Landau in Kennebunkport, Maine. A stationary yet profoundly internal practice that cultivates deep stillness through mindful breathing, visualization, and focused awareness. Emphasizing "inner movement," it circulates vital energy (qi), calms the nervous system, stores resilience in the lower dan tian, and invites profound relaxation and self-healing, as well as Justin Stone's Tai Chi Chih, equally renowned for its healing benefits.
She further enriched her repertoire with Dragon Form Qigong under Mimi Kuo-Deemer. Whose signature Mindful Dragon series blends fluid, dragon-inspired movements with mindfulness meditation. Rooted in Daoist symbolism, where the dragon represents power, adaptability, transformation, wisdom, renewal, and fluidity. Infused with Buddhist insights, these forms help practitioners release overthinking, reconnect with the body, build inner strength, and embody clear vision, steady presence, and graceful resilience.
Today, Janine weaves together these rich lineages into her own unique, integrative style, with a special emphasis on Meditation Qigong (Neigong) and Dao Yin Qigong tailored for deep healing. Her classes honor the wisdom of tradition while making these practices accessible, gentle, and transformative for modern lives. Guiding students of all levels to release stress, restore balance, nurture vital energy, and rediscover inner peace and wholeness through mindful movement, breath, and presence. With warmth, clarity, and genuine compassion, Janine creates a supportive space where everyone can experience the profound benefits of these timeless arts for greater health, serenity, and vitality. She is a Practitioner Member of the National Qigong Association.
